The model
Nib is a distribution of OpenCode, an MIT-licensed agentic coding tool. We do not fork the engine. We add four things on top:
- Login. A device-code flow that turns a browser approval into a local credential.
- Provider configuration.
nib initwrites the provider block so OpenCode points at our gateway without manual JSON editing. - Entitlement.
nib statusshows the credits your plan includes, what you have used, and when it resets. - Billing. One subscription covers both the tool and the models.
What lives where
| Piece | Repository | Licence |
|---|---|---|
| Nib CLI and provider glue | github.com/secretkeyllc | MIT |
| OpenCode engine | github.com/anomalyco/opencode | MIT |
| Gateway, billing, model routing | Private | Proprietary |
| This site | Private | Proprietary |
The CLI is open source so you can audit what it sends and where your credentials go. The gateway is not, because it contains provider contracts and routing logic.
Credits in one paragraph
Ten credits equal one dollar of model usage. Every plan includes a monthly credit allowance. Every response reports the credits it charged and the credits remaining. If a request's cost would exceed your remaining balance, it is rejected before it runs, with a 402 error that names the shortfall.
